I went to Menorca in August and renting a scooter was 100% the right choice. I booked it through BikesBooking, which saved me time since it showed all the rental shops with reviews, prices, and what documents were needed. For scooter rental in Menorca https://bikesbooking.com/en/rent-a-scooter-in-Menorca/ my EU car license was accepted for a 125cc scooter—no special permit needed. I picked up the scooter right in Ciutadella, and they offered delivery too, but it was extra. It cost about €20 a day with a €150 deposit. The roads around the island are mostly in good condition, though some remote beach roads can be narrow and bumpy, so I’d avoid riding at night. Helmets were included, and they also gave me a map with suggested routes, like the road to Cala Mitjana and Cala Macarella—those were amazing. Gas stations are a bit spread out, so plan refueling ahead, especially if you're heading out early or staying late at beaches. I used a backpack to carry water and sunscreen since storage space was limited. Parking was never an issue, even near busy beach spots. Just watch out for sand patches near beach entrances—they can be slippery. Booking in advance is a must in summer, scooters run out quickly and prices can jump if you wait too long. It was one of the best ways to enjoy Menorca beyond the usual tourist spots.
